Hailey, I agree that it is going to fun to hatch chicks! How old do you think a chicken will get? Perhaps you could research that and let us know what you find.
A chick egg takes 21 days to hatch.On the third day when the eggs are in the incubator there are a circle shaped heart and has veins. When they are old enough you can take a egg hold it up in a dark place than use a candle or a flashlight and you will see the chick inside the egg. A chick will grow up to be either a chicken or a Rooster. The egg yolk is stored food for the developing embryo and fetus. Never help a chick hatch.
Chickens can lay purple,blue,white,brown,or green eggs. Chickins and Roosters have claws not webbed feet. They have three claws on each foot. If you don't fertilize the chick eggs wont hatch they would be eggs you can eat.
Chicks are kind of furry and cute. You can have a chick as a pet chicks have a veins as its growing and hearts when they get to the next step they grow a wing and a mouth and a eye in some steps when they a growing they can beable to see in the dark with a flashlight.
